Perito Moreno Glacier
.jpg)
On my birthday in 2007 I was dispatched to Chile, for a British newspaper. A cruise ship (MV Explorer) had struck an iceberg in freezing Antarctic waters and sank. After sending my images to London and the assignment was over, I took a bus trip over the border into Argentina to this amazing location in Patagonia. The Perito Moreno Glacier is 5 kilometres (3 mi) wide, with an average height of 74 m (240 ft) above the surface of the water of Lake Argentino. When I finally made it home, my wife told me that we were expecting our first child. Great trip !
